Before signing a contract with Holden Roofing, be sure to read the back of the contract. My salesperson was only to happy to point out all the great things about his company, i.e they give back to the community, locally owned (not true), insured etc. but failed to point out anything on the back of the contract where everything they are not responsible for is spelled out.

They are not responsible for damage to your landscaping, including pool and pool equipment. The sales person assured me they would be covering the pool, pool equipment, plants. They threw a nasty tarp over some of the plants and then started tearing off shingles and tossing them on top of the plants. They partially covered the pool although I was told they would cover it completly. They are not responsible for damage to water, gas electric, air conditioning lines so even if your house is built to code, be prepared to fix those problems yourself and hope your house does not explode or catch on fire when they repture your gas or electric line as they are not liable for resulting damages. They are not responsble for damage to your roof during installation by hail, wind or ambiguosly "other hazards" which could be rain as far as the terminology implies. Oh and if your decking gets wet and they paper and shingle over it or if due to a leak caused by faulty instillation, they are NOT responsible for the ensuing mold problem.

Had my salesperson pointed out to me any of these potential hazards, I would have gone into the attic to ensure that the freon line that they punctured ($1500.00 fix) was well away from the roof decking. I do not believe an ordinary homeowner would be aware of these potential hazards, but I would think that a roofing "expert" might point this out prior to installation. Is their insurance soley for the purpose of ensuring one of their workers doesn't get hurt on the job? I think not. Why point it out if it doesn't help the homeowner in any way.

The GM told me it was not his problem. I responded that I would be posting an honest review of his company. He told me their was such a thing as libel and slander. That only pertains if I am dishonest in my account of my experience. Great customer interaction!

I understand that I am responsible for not reading my contract more carefully, but I am hoping that my negative experience will prevent someone else from using this company. Please note that the Texas attorney general filed a lawsuit against this company for deceptive trade practices.
