Gorell Windows and Doors does not honor warranties Indiana Pennsylvania

 Purchased 18 Double Hung and 1 picture window made by Gorell ,through Preston Dalton Siding and Windows out of Gainesville , Texas in 2007 for a total cost of $13,500. Mold has started to grow between the panes of glass on about  4 of the windows including the picture window. I contacted the dealer, who after three attempts at getting service,informed me that the warranty was handled by the manufacturer. I called the Gorell only to be told that as of February 2012 the Gorell Company was purchased by Soft-Lite and became Soft-Lite Gorell and were not obligated to honor the Gorell warranty.

Dalton obviously knew that the original company had sold out and was giving me the run-a- round. Gorell offers to inspect the windows for a small fee which is refunded should I decide to purchase new windows, which is equilivent to asking me to pay for the same junk twice. Soft-Lite Gorell is still making the same window, the same stile and under the same model names. They say that the new windows will carry a lifetime warrantee, that is till they sell out to another dummy company and fade into the night. They tout the partnership with National Crime Prevention Council, I think that the NCPC needs to re-think what type of companies they partner up with.

It makes little difference if the cause of the mold groth is in the manufacturing or the workmsn ship of the installation, the bottom line is that there is $13,500.00 down the tubes. I feel that neather Dalton Siding or Gorell can be considered ethical companies and should be avoided when considering replacement windows.
