The global directory of who's who Beware of this scam!!!! Please do not get scammed by these people!!!!! New York New York

Please be aware of this scam that will keep on charging your credit card long after you give it to them stating you agreed and are obligated.  I was solicited by telephone conversation last March 2013 for over $271.xx to become a member of The Global Directory of Who's Who.  I agreed at that time to a payment that included a book of members a plaque and a doccument showing my name for the office wall like a degree.   Then after five months they called to let me know they were charging my credit card again for $224.XX for the book that was now ready.   I told them I was not interested and said cancel my membership immediately.   They advised me that I was obligated to pay because of the phone conversation we had last March.   I said no one advised me of any future charges.  I searched the internet for information on this company and found numerous cases of fraud and websites claiming them to be a scam.  There was no checking to verify any of the information I gave them as to my credentials which made me believe this was some spoof of a company just collecting money from people.   What you get for your money is a bunch of worthless garbage stating what ever you want it to say.   I could have told them I was an astronaut and I'd be in there for what fees they wanted to charge.   I called the credit card company who gave me their email address they had on file.   They already knew about this scam company.   I sent them a couple emails telling them to cancel my subscription and then called them back to let them know I was not willing to participate any more.   They told me it was a contract and I could not opt out.   Please be aware of them and please do not give them your credit card information.   Beware as they are listed in every scam page on the internet and there are many warnings about this company.   It is up to you to protect yourself as the credit card companies can do nothing except file a dispute with them after the fact if you file it within 30 days of the fradulent charges which keep coming.
