Sonoran News, Don Sorchych, Linda Bentley, Usama Abjbarah, Vincent Francia Killing Democracy with Poison Pens and a Tyranical Town Hall Internet

The Sonoran News calls itself a newspaper but it’s simply an outlet for the political agenda and hatemongering against anyone that gets in the way of Don Sorchych, the publisher. Cave Creek, Arizona.

What started as a fairly good newspaper has, over the past 15 years, degraded into a hatemongering rag. Sorchych and his sidekick, Linda Bentley, character assassinate citizens of Cave Creek who speak or act in the manner deemed unacceptable to Sorchych. Simply put, Don doesn’t like them so he assigns Linda to write articles where Linda fabricates false statements and innuendos intended to harm the victim. Professional journalism processes are never practiced. Neither Linda nor Don ever contact their victims to validate their stories—it defeats the purpose.

In local politics, the fired former Town Manager, Usama Abujbarah compromised laws and ethics to act as Don’s mole and pipeline in Town Hall. It was a symbiotic relationship where if Don didn’t like someone, the Town would harass the person (to the point of trumping up charges to arrest them), and if Usama didn’t like someone, Don and Linda would write outrageous articles intended to harm the individual. Don called this being the watchdog of Cave Creek.

Local politicians acquiesced to Don’s fascist ways, especially Mayor Vincent Francia, who went to great lengths to insure Don’s puppet, Usama Abujbarah stayed in power. The Troika of Sorchych, Usama, and Francia ultimately put Cave Creek into $50 Million of debt—the highest amount of municipal debt per capita in the state of Arizona.

Why are we posting this on Ripoff Report?  Simply because Sonoran News is a rip-off of the concept of real journalism.  The paper is filled with half-truths and in some cases outright lies, all intended to foster an agenda—in short, a propaganda paper.

According to its website, the paper’s mission is: “It is dedicated to exposing corrupt and unethical local, county, state and national business and political practices.”  The people in Cave Creek laugh at this, since Sorchych is one, if not the biggest slime bag in the Town.

Sorchych claims his paper is “distributed free of charge to 36,000+ homes and businesses”, but Cave Creek is only a community of about 4,000. There aren’t 36,000 homes and businesses in the area.

Over a period of the last three weeks, Don Sorchych published three editorial cartoons in Sonoran News using n**i Swastikas and a an Israeli flag with bullet holes in it.

How can any self-respecting business advertise in a medium that spews this much hatred?  We are posting this on the Ripoff Report to urge readers to shun businesses that advertise in the Sonoran News and allow Sorchych to continue his Fascist hate mongering diatribes. Businesses who advertise in the Sonoran News are complicit in Don’s hate crimes. Local businesses have options. Other newspapers service the area for advertising purposes.
