Sesrs Outlet Online Sears Outlet Washing machine exploded 9 months after purchase, Sears wants me to pay $400 to replace! Internet

I purchased a Maytag Maxima front load washer, model MHW7000X, from Sears Outlet on 12/31/2011.  It was listed as "Like New" and said it was a flood model and have never been installed in a customers home.   It is currently covererd by the manufactures warranty which comes with all purchases form sears outlet for 1 year.

7 months after purchasing it stopped working, repair crews spent 3 weeks fixing it and ended up adding a new control board and new wiring.

9 months after purchasing the machine EXPLODED!!!   Plastic pieces were blown off of the machine, metal ball bearings literally SHOT across the room, causing damage to walls, a heavy counterbalance weight (about 50 lbs) was thrown across the room, the drum of the machine came out, and more.  It was a complete disaster, luckily nobody was killed because the flying pieces of metal would have killed anyone who was standing near the machine at the time.

This happened 2 weeks ago and after about 10 hours on the phone with Seasrs and two service calls (to tell me that it was not reparable  - duh - Sears still will not fix the problem.   All I want is another machine, either new or a floor model, delivered to my house at no charge.   Sears outlet tells me that since I paid $800 for the $1200 unit that if I want to replace it with another one I need to pay the difference.   This is a total scam, they want me to pay full retail value for a new unit!!

I have photos of the damage and will be taking action since they will not replace the unit at no cost, which is all I wanted.
