I'm an AT&T customer who decided to purchase iPhones for my family for Christmas. While purchasing phones the AT&T reps are telling me about this new insurance they have that pay for your phone. I'm sayin to myself no way anyway I have 3 reps of AT&T tell me it's the greatest thing since PB&J. No matter what happens to your phone including water damage it's about $7 dollars a month. I just paid $99 dollars for one phone and $199 for the other for $7 why not. So I give my wife and daughter there phones and we go into AT&T to activate the phones. While we are there my wife ask about insurance that I purchased because as we are standing there I'm saying to my wife she has to get over the habit of placing her phone in her bra because the moister and sweat can't be good for the glass that covers the phone. The AT&T rep cuts in and says it doesnt matter with the insurance you can drop your phone in a BUCKET of water and it will be replaced for free. Well now sum 7 months later my daughter drops her phone on the floor and the glass breaks. So I personally know that the glass on the phone can be replaced for around $80 bux. But wait I have that insurance. so my daughter calls insurance company and starts the process with Asurion insurance well being she's under 18 I had to finish the phone conversation. So the Asurion rep says they send me new phone and box with return Adress to ship back broken phone free of charge. We do the exchange IMMEDIATLY upon receipt of new phone. That's within the month of July the 13th to be exact. I get my new AT&T bill for August and there's a $199 deductable on my bill. As soon as I see the bill I go back to AT&T store and ask them about the bill. After about 20 minute of arguing with AT&T reps they tell me they won't do anything about the charge. There hands ate tied even though there reps are the ones who sold me the insurance and claimed it to be the best thing since pb&j. Not satisfied I call AT&T once again I'm told they can't do anything but they could transfer me to in insurance co. I get transferred to insurance co. I'm on the phone with insurance rep and then her supervisor for over 45 minutes arguing my case. I get told that they can remove the charge if I send the phone back BUT they can't return my daughters phone cause it's been refurbished. And even though the conversations are recorded they couldn't find my call anymore to prove I was right. I said that's no good I want to talk to his supervisor. He puts me on hold for 10 min. Gets back on and say his super is in a meeting and would call me back. Her name was Cystal and would be calling from a 615 area code within 48 hrs. Well it's been 48 hrs and no call. For one thing I was lied to by AT&T.... the phone (although could've been fixed for $80) and yet I got this deductable of $199 that I was never told about by the AT&T rep or first insurance rep I talked to and in my book that's not free
