Academy of Knowledge Lisa Hadley Brown, World of Knowledge Preschool Playground Scam! Miami, Florida

 I am a sales Rep for Miracle Recreation. We build playgrounds. Back in June of of 2012 I was approached by Lisa Hadley Brown (owner of Academy of Knowledge 2240 NW 119th St Miami) requesting help with getting a Playground for her School. She pulled on my Heart Strings with her story of the children having an unfinished and unsafe playground.

As a result, I met with her at the school and sure enough she had a half built playground. She went on to tell her story of how she had just taken over the school and did not have the funding to complete the playground and it was in this condition from the previous owner (the previous owner was her mother). I met the children and her family and wanted to help. I then started the process of designing and quoting the project. She loved it! She signed the contract and was aware of the payment terms due upon completion.

We are a small business and spent over $2,100.00 out of our pocket to install the equipment. The total that is owed to Miracle is $14,045.87. The same week I completed the installation, I got a call from a company that I have done business with in the past that had seen the new playground.  He realized it was mine and went on to tell me that he also was duped by Lisa.

His company had put a playground in and she never paid, so they removed what they could in hopes of collecting (this is why it was unfinished). We have contacted her numerous times  always an excuse. One excuse is " I have been waiting on a payment book". This is the same fake excuse she gave the other company. I want to do what I can to make sure she doesn't do this to anyone else, especially struggling small local businesses.
