Lacy Burke is a lying individual who lurks at film festivals and film markets. Film buyers and agents beware of him at film festivals and at the AFM. Burke claims to help other filmmakers get a project made and offers to pay for half the equipment costs. Then he will try to claim full creative control over the future film projects, without any involvement in the actual writing or creative aspect of the film or project. Lacy will call and harass friends of the filmmakers, and make up baseless threats. His movie Car Date Movie located at these addresses (www.facebook.com/CarDatethemovie) and (youtube.com\CarDatethemovie) are prime examples of lack of creative effort and more of a what a sleaze-bag would use to accomplish his snake goals.

I am Lacy Burke and had this rip off report written about me. Here is my response
I met Stephen at a film festival and he seemed like a nice guy. I told him i was interested in shooting some footage to use to promote my film "Car Date". I explained to him that the footage would be shot at night and i needed a lighting set-up. He explained to me that he didnt have lights so i offered him a deal. The deal was that i would pay for 50% of the lighting equipment and he would pay the other 50%. After we shot the footage i would own the rights to the footage and he would get to keep the lighting gear. We agreed and i mailed him a check.
The next phase was that Stephen was going to send me a youtube video of the lights being used so that i knew we had a good product and set-up a shoot date. Stephen never sent me a video and came up with excuses each time i called him. Stephen was unprofessional! I asked for the money back and he said he wouldnt give it back. Stephen lived in a building where he and the manager worked on projects together. When i called his partner/manger of the building he spoke to Stephen and Stephen sent back the money. That is what happened
