My previous Mortgage Company, National City Mortgage got bought out by PNC Bank. Two weeks before PNC formally converted, they sold my mortgage to Green Tree. From what I've researched online and from my own personal experience, this Mortgage Company that operates under many aliases is not interested in servicing it's Customers. Their Modus operandi is deceit, and their only motivation is to scam you out of your money, as much as they can get away with legally. They began harrasing me as soon as the mortgage was converted. I could not pay my Mortgage because I had not received any documentation from Green Tree and did not have an Account Number after the conversion. I received a phone call from a Customer Service Rep asking me why I had not made a payment. I told them that I had not received any documentation from Green Tree and could not pay online without an Account Number. The Customer Service Rep gave me my Account Number and I paid online. They charged me $12.00 in order to make a payment online.
The following month I had to call several people, and send several taxes in order to get my Property Tax Statement to the Escrow Department so that they would pay my Property Taxes on time. I spent a total of about 8 hours of my time for something that should have taken about 15 minutes. The following month, on or about the 3rd of the month, I started to receive harrasing phone calls about when I would pay my Mortgage. After the third call, and repeating myself to each Customer Service Rep, that I had until the 16th to pay, I blocked their number. They called back from different numbers and each time I blocked their number. I have now stopped receiving harrasing phone calls from them. In January, I decided to pay the Mortgage via bill pay so that I could avoid paying them $12.00 each time I pay online. I did this in January and the payment went through without incident. This month I did the same thing. When I called them because I wanted to fax them an updated Property Tax Statement, I was told that they never received my payment. I called my bank and they told me that they had mailed the check on December 5th. I was forced to pay the bill online so that I would not incur a late fee or have a late payment. This company is creating so much negative karma that it is just a matter of time before they reap what they sow. I recommend that everyone reach out to as many agencies as possible; Better Business Bureau, etc. so that they can be held accountable for their dishonest decrepit business practices.
