If you are looking for a place to live, look ANYWHERE else but 9006 Lacrosse ave in Skokie IL. The place is infested with huge Water-bugs/roaches. It was so disgusting! Each morning we woke up to 20 + bugs in the kitchen (kitchen drawer, floor, wall), bathroom, living-room, bedrooms, as well as inside your shoes and bags. We had to shake our shoes out each morning before putting them on.
It was such a horrible experience! We do not believe that anyone should have to live that way. EVER! The Landlord/Slumlord was notified so much so that his number was on speed dial. He would never take care of the problem as a whole. He would purchase cans of bug spray and leave it at the front door or claim that an exterminator was called and nine times out of ten they would not show up. Be very selective on where you choose to live.

I am the attorney for the owner of this property. Mr. Sadkin has no ownership interest in the property and taking care of the water bug problem was not his responsibility. The owner of the building makes all decisions. The water bug problem was taken care of as soon as it was brought to the attention of the owner. The tenant who wrote this letter was not the best tenant for a landlord to have and I am advised by my client that the tenant was in the habit of giving post dated checks for the rent. Notwithstanding her alleged complaints she continued to live in the building. If things were so bad why did she not move. If conditions were so bad she could have moved and could have used the water bugs as a defense to any rent claim against her. Mr. Sadkin is an upstanding citizen whose reputation should not be spoiled by someone who wrote a spurious complaint out of malice.
As to the owner I know she keeps the building in as good as condition as an older building can be kept in. I have on numerous occasions been involved in negotiations with a co-owner on maintenance issues so I know the building is kept up.
