My experiance with The Owners Advocate is a mirror reflection of the other reports listed here, so I will try not to duplicate what has already been posted.
Did they promise good results? Yes! Did they string me along for over a year? Yes!
Did they take my $999.00? Yes! Did they deliver the goods? NO! Have they made it easy to initiate my 100% money back Guarantee? NO! Is TOA playing stupid? Yes!
It was March of 2009 when I used them as a "Last Resort" (no pun) to get the Welk Resorts in San Diego off my back whom refused to work with me on the payments when the economy went South. TOA said that they had a high success ratio, and would probably take about 90 days to complete. I called them monthly for updates, and always got the same reply "We're working on it, and your resort is being difficult". I bought the line, for my resort was the same with me when trying to negotiate.
It's been a year now, and I come to find that when TOA had shut down their site in Late February to March 2nd, it seems that everything had shifted, and their reply when I contacted them was that the company had been sold, and more departments had been added in order to better serve me. Well, I also find that TOA had forwarded my case to another agency that goes by the name of "My Consumer Activist" www.myconsumeractivist.com And that's when the red flags, red lights, and alarms went off in my head.
OMG! I spoke to a CSR named Monika whom had no record of TOA's involvement, no names, contacts, updates, etc. She told me that TOA does this in more difficult cases when TOA can not resolve the issue. Monika stated that it would now be my responsibility to pursue the contract cancellation with her help in walking me through the steps such as what to say, forms to fill out, etc. Hey, if I wanted to do it myself, I would have never contacted TOA. I understand that most of what TOA does can be achieved by most anyone with the proper research, but who has time for that? I didn't, so I took a chance, and a bad one at that. Below is a list of names I recall throughout the year when calling TOA, names that My Consumer Activist are totally unfamiliar with.

The good side to this nightmare is that you still have a fighting chance to get your money back by contacting the bank you used to make your payment. I used a Mastercard, and my bank had records of the two drafts of $499.50. I ordered a charge back, and told them that this was a case of fraud in my eyes. I,m hoping to recoup the money, and give TOA a bigger black eye then they gave me. My next stop is the FTC, and the media whom have their own consumer advocate segments on the news, and that's right where I'm headed. The media froths at the mouth to get a hold of these types of crooks, and I'm going to have fun doing this.
I't's bad enough that we as consumers are going through one of the most difficult times of our lives, without the scum sucking, false promising s****.>

If this doesn't give you hope, nothing will. These sleazy predatory Sons Of Bitches finally F##ked with the wrong person, and are now less $999.00 in their bank account!
I didn't give up, and almost a year to date, before the statutes ran out, did a charge back on my debit card in which the bank investigated, sent them a letter with a deadline to respond, and just as in their inability to respond to my countless refund requests, they failed to respond to my bank. BINGO!
Hey Serge! You out there? Yeah, I'm talking to you scumbag! Take that and stuff it in your pipe and smoke it!
To the rest of the TOA staff such as Taylor, Crystal, and all the other brainwashed pathological liars.....SCREW YOU!!! I got my money, and you get the shaft!
Never give up is what I say, burn in hell...TOA!

This company is the bottom of the cesse pool. They lied to my face at their Nashville offices and promised my wife and I that they would get us out of our Bluegreen contract or we'd get our money back...that was 1 year ago...lies, lies, lies. now they've moved and are operating under a new name. They won't refund our money and are doing nothing but continuing to cheat people.
David Humphries is a boil on the a*s of humanity. He is a thief and a liar. He employs thieves and liars...Tayor Monroe, Shakira Hartly, Kate Morgan...to name a few.
Kharma will get them soon enough.

How do we exchange information offsite? I don't want personal info floating around, so we need to have a system together that we, as well as others can easily navigate. I threatened them yesterday and today with media exposure if they did not respond by tomorrow, and am already contacting television stations here in California to see if it could go national. Hey Jeff this is fatherof3 and I want to file a lawsuit for advertising the money back guarantee and not fallowing through. Yes I too fell victim to this company that promised to help me get out of my contract. I'm in the process of getting a attorney and getting my money back plus some for all the other damages that TOA caused me. Taylor manroe all of a sudden stoped responding to my emails and messages knowing that they didnt do anything to try and help me out. And now I too am the wrong person to have been messed with. I will get my money back one way or another. If you are willing sue them with me we could contact eachother and get the ball moving, the more people on board the better. I want to get on with the process. They have not returned my money at all and they will not get away with it. anyone else who has been ripped off from this company that wants to take them down feel free to hop on board and lets bring this company down before anyone else gets scammed like we did.
