Bought a magic jack online with the understanding I had 30 days to decide whether or not to keep it.They billed my credit card immediately and I was told that the unit could not be returned, since the transaction had already posted.    Since I was stuck with the darned thing,I downloded the software-big mistake. Was told that next years renewal would be automatically posted to my credit card unless I went to a different web site where they tried to sell me more products and service contracts.   Now,for the really bad part;the software you have to download is full of bugs and really slows down your computer. You have to unplug the magic jack to get your email or use internet explorer, also it must be unplugged when starting Windows or it adds 3 -4 minutes to your startup time.    Even worse, the software cannot be removed using add-remove programs. Now I have nag screens reminding me to plug the magic jack into a usb port and pop-up advertisements.     Do not buy this product, don't borrow one and don't install the terrible software. It will make your computing experiences a real pain in the butt.I don't mind the money spent ($46.00) as much as I am furious about the damage this crappy software did to my computer.Glad I had everything backed up,and am running Windows XP.

Hi there, sorry to see you are having problems..  I, along with many other people are using it successfully with little or no issues....

You can download the removal tool from their site, http://www.magicjack.com/6/faq/

I admit their site is a little deceiving,  but if you login to the webpage to take you to your account,  http://www.my.magicjack.com at the very bottom below the ads to buy or upgrade, there is a button to click to enter "my.magicjack" for features....

Inside there is your account, and a spot to unselect the option for automatic renewals and you will be fine....

But you should check out   http://www.magicjacksupport.com    its a good site to check out, and view solutions to problems that you are having....   Just use the search button to look up a specific problem and hopefully it will work for you....
