Old ReDriven Power = New Orenda Energy Debate
AUTHOR: Phil - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 29, 2012
Let me start by stating up front that I am the same Phil from Ipava, IL that filed previous report #862268 against ReDriven, but I believe my current comments are more germane as a comment to this report than an update to my previous complaint.
I believe I have deduced, or know several important things from:
- #2 Employee rebuttal by Gerry of Johnston (Canada) states in the first sentence of the 2nd paragraph that Redriven Power had declared bankruptcy. Additionally stated is Orenda also hired some, not all, the terminated Redriven employees and None of the founders or owners of ReDriven have an ownership stake in Orenda . . . and
- #5 Employee rebuttal, also by the same Gerry of Johnston (Canada) defends Orenda when stating Orenda did not buy Redriven. Orenda is not Redriven and as such has no responsibility for actions taken by Redriven in the past.
Now let me ask, do you not find it interesting that someone merely representing themselves as just an employee, and a very new employee, at that, of a newly formed company so eloquently defends Orenda, and knows this much?
(1) CIRCUMSTANTIAL DEDUCTION . . . I believe that our mystery Gerry, is none other than Gerry LaLonde, the new COO / CFO of Orenda Energy Solutions as listed and shown on this link: ca.linkedin.com/company/orenda-energy-solutions-Canada , which I viewed on Sunday, May 20th after first reading this Post. However, that link mysteriously NO LONGER provides the same information, but gives a list of 8 different Gerry Lalondes, none of which now currently list anything associating any of the 8 with Orenda Energy Solutions.
(2) KNOWN FACT . . . a Mr. Gerry LaLonde (believed to be one and the same) was also the COO / CFO of the former Redriven Power. In fact he was the Redriven representative that agreed to and signed the legal settlement my attorney drew up to forestall my filing a Lawsuit against Redriven. His former position can, currently as I write this, be confirmed by the link: www.yatedo.com/p/Gerry.../dbd649342a69cdbc0379736e6129bbcb
One of the conditions agreed to by Mr. Gerry LaLonde, in my settlement agreement, was that Redriven was to repay my deposit plus 4% interest retroactive back to the date of my deposit in two installments. Guess what? The 1st installment check was late, and the 2nd installment check bounced higher than a kite. Wouldnt you think the C(hief) F(inancial) O(fficer), being in charge of the money would know enough to make sure the money was in the account before writing a check on the account? By my experience and standards, this guy too, was your typical Redriven snake-oil-salesman, so why would he be any different as the new (as listed on LinkedIN as of May 20th, 2012) COO /CFO of Orenda Energy Solutions trying to pass himself off as just an employee offering up his two cents in defense of his new employer?
If you ARE NOT the person I think you are, I offer up my apology here and now, but I suspect that you ARE! What is your COMMENT or REBUTTAL GERRY?

Bad start for Orenda
AUTHOR: Larry J. - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, May 28, 2012
It is too bad that I had to spend hours on the computer in order to find out that Redriven has declared bankruptcy. As a former "dealer", and I use that term loosely, I would have thought that I could have been shown some courtesy and been notified by now that the change had been made. It isn't that I was surprised, anyone with business sense knew that Redriven couldn't survive operating the way they were.
I installed a 20kw system for a customer and it has been one of the most TRYING episodes of my business career. It started with an 18 month wait for the system, then another 4 months for the controller. All of the installation was done with guidance from phone conversations and finally a few hurried visits by available Redriven field techs. We had many, and I mean many, issues. If it wasn't for the extreme patience of the customer, I'm sure the thing would never had gotten completely installed.
Basically, I felt like we were, or should I say are, the R&D department for Redriven Power. I have spent more unpaid manhours troubleshooting the system than I had for the total installation of the unit. Not only that, there are now 2...four letter words that can't be spoken in my house. Wind...Mill.
I spent hours working with techs and employees of Redriven. They knew what they were doing and they always did their best to work through the problems. What they couldn't do was circumvent the outrageous mismanagement of Redriven. I honestly thought that Harvey should have cleaned house a year ago.
As I am writing this, my customer is now waiting on replacement inverters for his system. We have no idea as to when they will be returned or even if they will be repaired. The problem that caused them to fail has been identified and can be eliminated.
The bottom line is, this system "CAN" be, by far, the best system out there for the market that it is designed for. I have seen it work, I have seen the techs identify and come up with the right solutions. What I have not seen is the transparency needed to rescue a good product that has been so recklessly damned by prior management.

Redriven Turbine Wire Diagram & tech.
AUTHOR: Chad Foster - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, May 26, 2012
I am not looking for warranty work or parts replacement. However, these would be nice. I am more interested in looking for a recent wire diagram and a programmer tech. If anyone know where I could find these, I'd appreciate your help.

Orenda Energy is Owned by the same investor as ReDriven Power
AUTHOR: Joe Wassilyn - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, May 23, 2012
Redriven was SHUT Down by Harvey Clapp! Harvey is the main investor of Redriven. He decided to close it down and claim Bankruptcy. He decided to close the doors without warning and fire all the employees including the CEO's . Then Harvey decided to re-open ReDriven but in a different name....Orenda! Now why would he do that?
Besides the reason that the company was spending LOTS of money on creating a Bullet Proof Turbine there was many more reasons why Harvey would Close it down and start Fresh! The ONE major reason was to Cancel all the warranty replacements from the past Customers. Harvey decided that if he closes Redriven then he doesnt have to replace All the broken Turbines and Keep all the money that Customers put down for a system that never got delivered!! Now all ReDriven Customers Know who "Harvey" is and I dont think I have to explain where he lives and where he comes from. We also know that Harvey is a man with lots of Money. And lots of People think that Lots of Money= Lots of Power.... wrong!! We have to stick together and prove him wrong!
"None of the founders or owners of Rediven have an ownership stake in Orenda..." Wrong!! Harvey Clapp is still Connected and involved in every way.
"Orenda is currently developing a new line of wind turbines which it will be bringing to market sometime late summer. These will not be Redriven turbines...." Wrong again!! These are the same Turbines! They are still being manufactured in the same facility in China. True they are working on removing some of the bugs and placing a speed controller by Hydraulics.
Orenda, you can't fool us. I suggest you look at your list of Customers that started with ReDriven and start contacting them and take care of them! Redriven had great Ideas and Designs, their systems which you have now are great , But you have to step up and take care of the customers that helped and were involved by putting their life savings on it!
I, original writer of this Report will remove these remarks and replace them with positive comments once you Agree to serve me and the past Redriven Customers with fair respect to their loss of their broken units and "missing" units! Once you step up to your plate then WE can all join Orenda and help them grow with positive Attitudes..But untill then we wont stop coming after you!

Orenda Did Not Buy Redriven
AUTHOR: Gerry - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, May 23, 2012
I think you may have missed an important point. Orenda did not buy Redriven. Orenda acquired certain assets that use to belong to Redriven. Orenda is not Redriven and as such has no responsibility for actions taken by Redriven in the past. Even if we wanted to provide support to Redriven turbine owners we do not have the staff, resources, parts or capability to provide any support.

Redriven Turbine Owner

We ordered a Redriven turbine April 2009. We just received most of the parts April 2012. Yes, three years later! Two weeks later, Redriven goes under. Can we get parts, wiring diagrams, programming, ect... from the new company?

Orenda

OK Orenda. Seeing as you bought out ReDriven, are you willing to stand behind the 5 year warranty on the Redriven Turbines that are out there? Or at least provide parts, service and support?

#2 UPDATE Employee
Orenda Energy Solutions is NOT ReDriven Power
AUTHOR: Gerry - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 22, 2012
Please be aware that Orenda Energy Solutions is not the same company as Redriven Power Inc.
Redriven Power has declared bankruptcy. Orenda purchased some, not all, of the Redriven assets from one of Redriven's secured creditors. These assets included office furniture, lab equipment and intellectual property. We also took over the property lease which is why we are at the same physical location.
Orenda also hired some, not all, of the terminated Redriven employees.
None of the founders or owners of Redriven have an ownership stake in Orenda, nor are they employees nor do they have any direct or indirect control of Orenda.
Orenda is currently developing a new line of wind turbines which it will be bringing to market sometime late summer. These will not be Redriven turbines!!!
Please do not confuse Orenda with Redriven.

ReDriven Scammers
AUTHOR: Bob - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, May 20, 2012
I, too, am a victim (customer) of ReDrivens scam. My Turbine has been completley down for most of the 3 years I have owned it. I am currently suing them.
In another post, I left my phone number so other ReDriven Customers could call me and share their ReDriven experience. Lately, my phone has been ringing off of the hook!
It seems ReDriven has chosen take all of these poor customers' money and now are completely ignoring them. Their website is now down and they are not answering the phone.
Some customers do not even have ANY product after over 2 years of patiently waiting and being fed one excuse after another from ReDriven. (paying ReDriven IN FULL upfront in some cases) For the poor customers that do own their defective product they have also been ignored for service and or the "promised upgrades" - in some cases like mine FOR YEARS.
Some of these these stories are actually almost hard to believe.
One cutomer told me one of the owners just bought a brand new Porsche. If this is true, I wonder where that money came from????
