Beware of this company!!! this is the same thing that happened to me with all the reports you got here ... they're all over the U.S now with different name of companies but their common company name is AMERICAN FIRE AND SAFETY ..
First thing that happened to me , they called me for an interview for a management position.. they told me to bring a pen , 3 references and the amount of $60 for a background check .. there were 4 more applicants when i get to their office .. there was a lady , i guess around her 40's named CATHERINE LOPEZ she said she's the office manager.. she was introducing a fire extinguisher named Cold Fire , she was doing some demo's and stuff .. she said were gonna be making $400 a week on training and after 90 days we could get to pick our own office because their company is expanding .. to make it short their gonna talk you through it and get your $60 which will they say that is for background check and NON - REFUNDABLE .. they will congratulate you that you got the position and you will be trained for a management position the next day and they would let you bring $95 for a kit fee which they say is refundable when you get the office manager position and that is really impossible because they gonna put you through all those hardships and going to work everyday without pay until you are gonna quit .. .... ..THIS AMERICAN FIRE AND SAFETY is a SCAM .. and they are located at 3230 POLARIS AVE. Suite 27 LAS VEGAS , NEVADA 89102 .. and their phone number (702) 476-3032 ..
PLEASE WHO EVER COULD READ THIS , PLEASE BE CAREFUL ,DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !! DON'T BELIEVE THEIR BULLSHIT .. REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY !!!!

First, I was an employee of yours for about 1 months before I became aware of the scam. I would like to inform Catherine that even if you were in the military you should be ashamed of yourself, you do not represent any of the core values that the military stands for.
Secondly, Catherine that fact that you believe what your saying is unbelievable, I was talked to by Rudy Garcia after I started my office training and he told me face to face that I could only make money as an office manager if I continually hired people as office managers. And that I got a percentage of all of their background fees and kit fees. Which clearly shows that the background check fee doesn't even go to the background check.
After that meeting I left and never looked back, they scammed my family out of a combined 1,800 dollars. Rudy Garcia, Catherine Lopez, and anyone else they have working there under their lies and deception is a total fake and cannot be trusted. Be careful!

I to was taken in this scam, THEN after contacting Garcia a couple times i was told they were going to credit my account for the 95.00 bs kit fee, after i met him face to face and gave him the equipment (pie pan, lighter and lighter fluid with strips covered in cold fire) out 150.00 just trying to work!!!

We have been receiving complaints about this company for over a year. Letters have been sent to Mr. Rudy Garcia, the owner of the company, asking them to stop, but this scam continues. The company IS NOT AUTHORIZED to sell or represent COLD FIRE or any products from Firefreeze.
If you are a victim of this scam we urge you to contact us so we may better track and put a stop to this nonsense.

I experienced the same bait and hook as the initial complaint. Paying for a background check is one thing. That's legal and I can live with that, but the kit I had to pay for was never fully provided. I spent $95 for a notebook, some matches and a tin pan...I never received the fire extinguisher that was "out-of-stock", when I attended my initial training.
This company charges credit cards immediately after orders are sent, when the product isn't supposed to ship for 4-6 weeks. Employees call in orders and the managers run the card numbers on a iphone credit card app, then forge signatures for the customers.
We as "manager trainees" are meant to receive a commission on all sales. I started in October of 2012 and still have received no pay. I realized they were a scam and ceased contact. I thought that my orders would be filled and I could chalk the whole experience up to a lapse in judgement, but..
My biggest complaint with this company is that my customer's orders were never filled. They were placed in October, meant to be shipped in 4-6 weeks and it has been nearly 5 months. I began with nice phone calls, requesting the matter be resolved. I went into the office, I was told it would be taken care of.
Now I can no longer reach them. I have called with threats of taking legal action. I call, on average, 4 times a week, sometimes several times a day. My customers have sought out the number themselves and have not been contacted or assisted. At this point I am livid that my friends and family have been outed money because I fell for a scam, when I really needed a job. I do not want their scammy products sent to my customers, I do not even care about the money & product due to me. I just want my customer's money refunded. They received no product and have the right to have their accounts credited.
I will pursue any and all legal action possible until their money has been returned.

My name is Catherine Lopez, the person named in this frivolous and uneducated claim. I don't appreciate someone who refuses to show who they are by hiding behind their computer to slander my good name and reputation. First I would like to tell you a little about myself before I address this frivolous claim.
This is my second career, previously I served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in which only one percent of the military achieves this level. I've received many medals and honors during my tenure. I would not represent or work for a company that was not of the upmost valor and integrity.
Our company may not do everything as the norm but we are by no means a scam company or do anything that is illegal. As stated, we do not have other offices in different states with different names. Many companies charge background fees that are paid by a new hire. As a matter of fact the State of Nevada does this, the School District and even Assisted Living Facilities do as well. I studied, learned what was taught and worked diligently as a Manager Trainee and then soon promoted to Office Manager.
Just because something doesn't sound right to someone or they are uneducated on the subject doesn't mean it's wrong or illegitimate. Our company has always been transparent as we have nothing to hide.
Here is a link to Channel 13 action news segment "You ask, We Investigate" that ran a story on our company background fee. The gentleman in the video wrote them to ask if it was legal for a company to charge this fee.

In closing, many people thrive off of negative situations and regardless of what one or two people say about us, we are not what they are making us out to be. When people don't get their way, this is a way to become revengeful. We encourage you to to take all things into consideration prior to making a decision that could possibly change your life for the better.
