Due to the lost of my job after 22 years with the same company, it caused a large IRS and NJ State tax debt. When I saw the advertising for Tax Masters on television, that they could reduce or eliminate tax debt, I contacted them in February 2009. This was well before April 15th, when my tax debt was due.
First, Tax Masters said I had not filed my tax, which was filed through H&R Block electronically. I had to get IRS to give me the electronically filed number to prove they were filed. Then Tax Masters charged me to redo my 2008 tax form to be certain they were correct. Then they asked me to send them many years returns, not once but several times.
I notified Tax Masters that NJ was have a tax amnesty, could they work with the amnesty. I heard nothing on this amnesty.
IRS and NJ was putting a levy on me, which Tax Masters knew, but still did nothing.
It is now 2010, and I owe even more tax debt, and I have now arranged payment plans with both NJ and IRS. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Texas Greg Abbott. I have sent many communications to all involved at Tax Master that I want a refund for services not rendered.
I realize after doing more research on this firm, they have scammed me as well as many others.
Why hasn't someone shut them down? I hope an attorney will step up to the plate and file a class action suit.

Google that
As to the OP - never EVER trust anyone who advertises on TV - most likely they are just con artists - I can tell you the Greg Abbott does take these type of complaint seriously - just keep at em - also consider a small claims suit if possible
Good luck and never EVER not pay your taxes - The IRS will get you
I know because my Father is a CPA
